Description
Learn how to secure applications and APIs with F5 Distributed Cloud Services (F5XC), through using all major web application firewall, bot defense, denial of service protection, JSON Web Token validation, and API discovery/protection components offered through the F5XC console (with the exception of F5 Security Operations Center-based denial of service protection).
Use penetration testing tools and techniques to explore the elements of HTTP in order to configure protection from external client threat vectors.
Exploit vulnerabilities in the target application in before-and-after learning scenarios. Explore web application firewall policies, attack signatures, threat campaigns, and differentiation between positive and negative security models. Learn how to handle violations versus false positives, how to manage security events with exclusion rules, and how to use artificial intelligence to assist in security analytics. Take a deep dive into controlling HTTP request flows at layer 7 with service policies. Configure bot defense and threat mitigation using machine learning and artificial intelligence. Gain an understanding of public API endpoint discovery and securing those endpoints. Practice using different environments, collections, and variables for configuration tasks using the F5XC API.
The Securing Applications and APIs with F5 Distributed Cloud Services course is intended for DevOps, SecOps, and NetOps roles, as well as information security analysts. This course also benefits individuals responsible for creating and interpreting security rules, managing security processing, handling false positive violations, and reviewing security analytics in the F5XC console.
Your instructor will provide detailed virtual classroom information 1-2 business days before class starts. This class will utilize online student guides. No hard copy book will be shipped.
This class has a prerequisite. Students must register for the Administering Applications in F5 Distributed Cloud Services course before enrollment can be completed for this course. The prerequisite course must take place prior to this course.
