Course description

Learn to configure and operate BIG-IP Carrier Grade Network Address Translation, CGNAT, to support critical communication service provider carrier-grade architecture providing wide-ranging NAT functionality and performance at scale. Through a combination of self-directed or instructor-led lecture and hands-on lab, participants will be able to deploy various dynamic network address translation configurations. These configurations will incorporate subscriber-aware high speed, scalable logging with efficiencies in managing IPv4 address exhaustion using mapping strategies such as NAT44, NAT64/DNS64, PBA, PCP and many more. Plenty of context will be given to determining the appropriate dynamic NAT solution for common enterprise carrier-grade scenarios. Recommended practices for reporting and carrier-grade security event logging are covered in detail. The implementation of ALGs, application layer gateways are carrier-grade scale and introduction to high-availability deployments supported by hands-on lab activities round out the course agenda. Participants should expect to come away from this course will a sound awareness of carried-grade NAT features, terminologies, and practical hands-on lab experience to be proficient in supporting their communication service provided business.
