Exam Summary

Please note: As of May 1, 2025, this exam will be available exclusively to candidates who have passed the 101 Application Delivery Fundamentals exam prior to May 1, 2025 whose eligibility is still valid and has not expired.

This is the second and final exam that must be successfully completed by candidates who want to achieve F5 Certified! Administrator, BIG IP status. Passing this exam shows independence in performing day-to-day operations and basic troubleshooting of TMOS-based devices in various application environments after it has been installed, configured, and implemented. Summary description of the minimally qualified candidate (MQC)

The MQC is capable of performing day-to-day operations of TMOS-based devices which have already been installed. The MQC is also capable of basic troubleshooting of a TMOS-based device in order to provide full, accurate, and appropriate information to senior engineers and/or F5 Support. The MQC can do the following without assistance:
  • Able to access and manage the BIG-IP through multiple paths (management IP, Self IP)
  • Perform administrative tasks using the GUI
  • Understand the relationship and differentiation between virtual servers, virtual server types, virtual addresses, pools, pool members, nodes, profiles, iRules, and address translation (NAT/SNAT)

F5 works with two exam providers to administer scheduled, proctored certification exams: Pearson VUE and Certiverse. Because certification exams are proctored, it is important to read and understand the testing instructions from the appropriate exam provider before your exam appointment.

BIG-IP exams are delivered at Pearson VUE testing centers worldwide. You must bring two forms of valid, signed ID to your test session. One must be government-issued and include a photo.

NGINX exams are delivered via Certiverse online proctor. You must have a valid, signed government issued ID when checking in for your online exam.

The name on your ID must match the name listed on your F5 Certified account. If it does not match, email F5 Certified! at support@mail.education.f5.com

  • The first time you fail an exam, you must wait 15 days.
