Description

Securing NGINX Deployments is for individuals who want a deep understanding of NGINX and NGINX Plus's security features.

Students identify and administer client-side and upstream encryption (SSL/TLS), configure access control (limit rates, deny-listing/allow-listing), setup authentication (basic auth, OAuth 2.0), and tune the NGINX proxy to have reliable, persistent, fast, secure connections. The second half of the course explores using NGINX to secure API traffic.

Prerequisites

We recommend you complete Administering NGINX for Web Services, Instructor-led or self-directed, before taking Securing NGINX Deployments.

The course assumes a basic understanding of networking, web servers, HTTP, load balancing, caching, proxying, and related concepts.

Hands on labs are performed in a Linux environment. You will need to be able to navigate the file system from the command line and edit configuration files using VI/VIM. Additional experience with Linux environments will be helpful.

Your instructor will provide detailed virtual classroom information 1-2 business days before class starts. This class will utilize online student guides. No hard copy book will be shipped
