F5 creates and distributes practice exam versions of all of our certification exams (for a nominal fee). Unlike many vendors' practice exams, our practice exams are not designed to provide "study material", but to provide a valid assessment of a candidate's readiness for the real, production exam.
Practice exams are developed in conjunction with and equated to the production exams; they could be used as production exams if we chose. As such, they are highly correlated with the production exam, providing candidates the ability to assess their performance on the real exam without losing a production exam attempt, while also providing subjective feedback on the areas they need to address before attempting the real exam. None of the questions used on the practice exam are used on the real, production exam nor will the production exam necessarily ask the same type of questions; however, the practice exams are just as valid as the real exam.
Because the intent of our practice exams is not to provide study material, but assess readiness, we do not provide candidates with the answers to each question or tell them which questions they got correct or incorrect. The value of the practice exams is not in the question themselves, but in their ability to predict performance on the real exam. As such, we instead provide subjective feedback, listing how a candidate performed on each section. Sections listed as "BELOW" suggest they are not sufficiently prepared for that section. Sections listed as "BORDERLINE" suggest they may pass, but additional study would be highly beneficial to improve performance. Sections listed as "MEETS' suggest you are sufficiently prepared for that section. This feedback is general in nature, highlighting a candidate's strengths and weaknesses; we encourage reviewing all sections regardless of indicated performance, while prioritizing the sections rated lower.
There is only one (1) "version" of the practice exam; however, we offer both a single (1x) attempt, as well as a duel (2x) attempts (at a discount) on practice exams. We generally recommend taking a practice exam before starting study to provide guidance on current knowledge and retaking the practice exam after study to determine production exam readiness.
For instructions on how to take a practice exam, see: How do I take a practice exam?
PLEASE NOTE: Since the practice exams do not change between attempts, the ability of the practice exam to predict production exam performance decreases with each attempt. As such, we do not recommend taking the practice exam more than two(2) or, at most, three(3) times. After that, your results will more accurately reflect how well you know the exam itself, rather than how well you know the material.
